Schoharie Valley Piecemakers Quilt Show - Day 3

Again, not the best of pictures, But this is to share the rest of the main show by our guild members.  This was our raffle quilt made of many wildflower prints representing a local project by a group who is re-introducing native wildflowers back into the area after Storm Irene - called appropritely "Wildflowers of Middleburgh".  And it will be staying in the area as a Middleburgh resident won the guilt.

With Irene, many of our guild members lost so much and we had huge donations of fabrics, notions, services of repairing machines or replacements, washing damaged quilts.  This Giant Dahlia quilt was made from some of those donated fabrics by one of our members who was assisting her mother with the loss of her house, poor health, sitting in hospitals, tending - this quilt honors her mother.

This QOV was made by a member for her son who's has done many tours as a surgeon.

I wish this came out better, but it is a raffle quilt for another event - one of our new members is in a bat association - did not write the official name down. But they save, rescue, relocate, and study bats - there are applique bats in the center of those stars and bat fabrics, too.

I will let the rest of the photos speak for themselves - and no, I did not get all 115 of them - hanging them along each book rack made for some difficulty capturing some on camera - yes, we covered this library with quilts.

Now go sew,
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

Gosh Sharon! All the posts and all the quilts are just so gorgeous and inspiring!! There is nothing like that around my area. Once a year in Hot Springs which is 45 minutes away, they have a big quilt show but I had to miss it this year.

Thank you for showing us all those wonderful quilts. I know you had a great time with it. :)

Beautiful quilts. Your show had such a nice variety, a bit of everything. Hope you've had a chance to recover a bit. Did you help take down too?
